Sorry I don't know the name of the "green" sheetrock. I was told at home depot that we only needed to use the green sheetrock on the shower walls. Now I'm looking on line and it says I need to use a cement board to make it really water resistant. Help! What do I need to put behind my bathroom tiles?

The grout is only cracking around the bottom area where to tile meets the backsplash of the countertop? What would cause this to happen? The rest of the tile grout doesn't seem to be a problem. This is newly installed tile done by a contractor.

Drywall tape is seaparting from celing in 5"-8" sections. We need to repair so we can repaint the ceiling. Superglue the answer? I am afraid if I rip it down (or cut the bad section) it will look obvious. Wife thinks best bet might be just to caulk the "bubbles" then it wont be so obvious. There are also some nails that have "popped" out. I have taken a nail punch and put them back in but should I just cut the drywall protrustion then cut out the drywall then re plaster? I tried to push it back but it didnt go back enough. The ceiling is lightly spackeled.

In the interests of preventing climate change, it would be great if people could reduce the time during which they heated their house to the time when they are at home. But it takes time to heat up, so people have it on a timer, usually so its warm for the earliest time they arrive home. Money and carbon could be changed it they only put it on before leaving for home, so on the days they were out in the evening it wasn't turned on until later!

I'm getting my house painted. I just received a quote. The guy told me 1 color was nice. Said others were nice 2, but wouldn't coordinate w/ main color. The colors are Sherwin Williams Quixotic Plum as an accent wall in the family room and Mystic Mauve on the other walls. The main areas would be Latte. That's where he said the clash is coming.

This is how downstairs flows: Entry way to a 2 story foyer Immediately in front of you on right, stairs. To the left formal area - living & dining. From that room, or a hall, you come to the kitchen w/ a bay eat in. All those wall will be in Latte. Then you come to the family room. The wall facing you will be Quixotic Plum. The others will be Mystic Mauve. His suggestion is to do it Latte and do the other formal room QP. (no furniture yet - wanted the formal red).

What is your opinion? Is $1000 +200 4 paint bad? I'd say it's 1300 sq ft area - plus upstairs hall. The trim would be white - said cheaper to touch up stairrail.

Balls of thread on the bottom end of the fabric keep jamming the machine and I think it's because the needle is too big for the thickness of the fabric? Is this correct or is there another reason why the thread is collecting on the bottom side of the fabric while sewing? Thanks!

Palomar home builders wont repair their mistake and we have tried several times to have them finish the repair. It was first a pipe they never glued which turned into mold. They removed the mold but cutting it out of the ceiling. and never finished the repair, My family is now breathing in fiberglass from the 3-4 foot hole left open from their contractor that never finished the job. 4 weeks are going by. NOW i need to file complaints with whomever we need to. PLEASE HELP with the government agencies on where we should start, I appreciate it!
