These tiles are at least 30 yrs old, but in great shape. We wish to change the color. This is a high traffic, public area, so the surface must be durable and not too slick or glossy. Also, a paint that was less rather than more toxic (during application) would be prefferable.

We want to replace our Hotpoint condensing tumble dryer for a vented tumble dryer, hopefully a lot quieter than the Hotpoint as our downstairs area is very open plan and the noise from it is annoying. We would like a minimum 6kg dryer, but the noise is the main thing. Any ideas? Thank you.

Ok so (we) just got our first house and everyone keeps bugging me about having a house warming party. As I am the first person in my family to have ever gotten a house, I am very unfamiliar with this process. Do I cater to friends, family etc? Is it customary to set up a gift registry somewhere? What is the standard expectation of me by my friends who would be attending, and do I need to expect anything from my friends? Any examples of customary dishes served or activities that take place would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

can you put laminate on them as well? or strip off the carpet and paint that? or carpet just on the stairs? i don't like the idea of carpet in the front entrance as it will get dirty.

I know that a heavy felt material is used to join two slabs of concrete. I think it is for expansion and contraction. How do you install this material when you are pouring the slab? Is it best to install it when the first of the two slabs is poured, or is better to pour up against it with the second slab? How much does it cost and where can I buy it?

We are starting a painting project in my son's room. All the trim throughout the home is white (doors too). We have decided to leave it that way and not paint the trim or the doors. However, we are adding in a chair rail and have planned to paint it a different color...The room will be green above the rail//chocolate below rail and the rail we are planning on painting a color something like a tourquois....while still leaving the trim and doors white. Advice, comments? Thanks Tons! : )

we're moving into a house we have just bought and the chemical damp proof course has been done now, however there is still the effects of the damp to be re decorated. i.e: some of the paper has peeled off the walls etc. is there anything in particular i should do or be wary of when redecorating? i want to strip the paper off and have painted walls instead.

Ok ive tried bleach, ammonia, comet cleanser, those bleach tablets, blue formulas, Spray toilet bowl cleaners, CLR, lime remover, boric acid, I even tried that new product thats supposed to really work well(dont remember what its called tho- not that shower maid thing though), I even tried Vinegar and it doesnt come off. I'm like this close to using a pumice stone(a friend used that before he moved out of his apt and out of state lol!) but that will scratch and make things worse the next time around.

Please give me some serious help here. sulfuric acid comes to mind but im scared of that!

I'm going bonkers!

thanks!
