I also would like it to not look like crap over winter and to grow fast (actually I really want it to do this)

ALSO I LIVE IN ZONE 6B, IN TENNESSEE . I DONT THINK STAR JASMINE VINE WILL SURVIVE OUR WINTER TIME HERE.

Clematis Sweet Autumn is a nice one, with white flowers.

Perhaps Hydrangea petiolaris (Climbing Hydangea) would be worth a look - self clinging to 50ft, very frost hardy. Hope this gives you another choice.

Actinidia kolomikta depending on the site might also be nice.

Silver lace vine, it clings to any surface without damaging it.

I am not sure that there is one that will not damage the mortar between your bricks. English Ivy will look great year round. The rest are pretty much deciduous.

English Ivy does well for me, and I live in Middle Tn
