I have an above ground pool and when I fill it from my well water I have iron in the water. I have a cartridge type filter. When I add the chealating agent the metal drops to the bottom but when I try to vacume it throught the filter my filter does dot touch it. Are there any cartridge type filters that will filter out this metal?

That's why I went with a sand filter. When we add a lot of new water, say early season, the whole pool turns chocolate brown from the iron. It takes 24-36 hours of continual filtering before the iron is gone. The agent used to flocculate the iron....make it fall to the bottom......doesn't hasten the project.

Only thing I can see for you is quickly vacuum the iron and dispel it from the pool immediately through "waste."
