Most large markets in the drinking water section will have gallon jugs of distilled water for less than a dollar. A gallon will last a LONG time.

Condensed water from the dryer (or even the air conditioner) is technically distilled water, but can still pick up minerals or bacteria which might not do your iron (or yourself) any good.

Good luck with the ironing!

The water from your tumble dryer should be ok . But if you boil your kettle and poure the water into a plastic container and place in the fridge to cool this will also provide you with de-ionised water.

Why not go to a friend's house with a jug? Have a cup of coffee, and take home a gallon of water. Gas stations are usually hooked up to city water, and they always have an outside faucet.

I use cooled, boiled water. You could also use the Comfort ironing water - smells lovely when Ironing, but would be expensive to use all the time.

Don't fall for that one - just use boiled water that has cooled down. Most of the muck will have stuck to the kettle.
