They won't send anyone to look at it and they say they won't take it back. I have been with out a fridge for over two weeks and the manager on the phone today actually threatend me with another 7 to 9 working days. No, I did not purchase the extended warrenty and thats why I think they are being so nasty. We bought a washing machine, dryer, and refidgerator all at the same time. Two of the three quit working in the first month. Neither one has been fixed.

I've got an electric over with a gas hob (4 ring). It has a glass lid. Its worked beautifully up until a couple of days ago, when suddenly turning it on high, after about 30 seconds it turned itself to low. I tried turning all four hobs on, same thing happened. It goes down (sometimes down then up again, sometimes just down) to 'low' as the flames stay on, doesn't go out altogether.

I've checked the lid - moved it further back etc - to check that it hasn't blocked off the gas.

The flames now have yellow ends, whereas they were blue before this happened. Can hear the gas drop (or at least hear the flames drop).

I've looked all over the net for hours but can't find anyone with this problem exactly, other than one person who's cooker (not hob) lowered after putting it on, and the answer to that was needing a new "FFD".

The burners are very clean, haven't had much use, kept clean after each use.

Really would appreciate help so much on this if anyone knows.

I live on the 11th floor of a building in Chicago. It was built in the 30's, I think, which is evident in the shower. Hardly a trickle of water. How can I improve this situation?

I was given a new aloe plant (about 8 inches tall) about 6 months ago and it still can't stand up straight on its own. New stems are growing and it otherwise looks healthy, it just always needs to be kept upright with three popsicle sticks. Any advice?

What products/methods work best for this? I've tried windex, newspapers with water and vinegar and costly specialty products. They work - but all leave a film on the glass.

We need a retaining wall about 4-ft. tall, 20-ft. long. We don't really care about how nice it looks, it's just to hold back a hillside, and we have nothing in our budget for something like this. Any suggestions BESIDES railroad ties, which we were told we would have to replace?

The basic question: I don't know what to use for mulch/weed prevention in my veggie garden. Any suggestion?
The Details: I live in Maryland, Eastern Shore (45 mins to the ocean by car) Zone 7. The soil is very sandy and used to be a wheat field for many years before our house was built 4 years ago. We have horses and use a compost pile to mix in the garden. Our garden this year will be much bigger then any before because I'm planning on home canning allot of it. It will be at least 50x90 not counting the 40 tomato plants. I'm looking for something to use as mulch/weed prevention in the garden between rows and under the plants. I do plan on watering with soaker hoses and no overhead sprinklers to keep down the diseases and problems as much as possible.
The Kicker: We don't have much money to spend + we have a cat, dogs, children and those stupid voles/moles that dig tunnels throughout the yard and tons of grubs for the voles to eat. The sandy soil splashes up on the plants whenever it

I have seen these portable steam cleaners on QVC and the Home Shopping Channel advertised and I'm just skeptical as to whether they would work and how long the machine would last. Anybody have any feedback on these things? thanks

My house always seems to smell weird! We are African and my mom cooks lots of fish. Fish does not smell good. I've gone to school smelling like fish before(I figured it out because the dumb, rude kids in my class said "what smells like fish??!") and it was VERY embarrassing. Should I just Febreeze my clothes before school? Or leave them outside?

And how can I get odor out of my home?? AIr freshners don't really help! They just make it smell like fish and flowers.

ANy suggestions are nice. Thanks.
