I need a domestic diva to answer this for me, someone who is good at getting the kitchen tile spick and span! I'm not so gifted at this! The floor has a few bad dirt spots that I have had a hard time getting out, what is a good length of time to let the pine sol etc sit before mopping it up? Thanks in advance for your help!

I have many stray dogs that come into my yard and like to urine on my plants. I have heard that a male dog's urine hurts and maybe kills the plants. Is this true? I would like any information on this topic and if any; sites that would explain this. Thanks!

We live in a tropical climate and we have those teeny sugar ants year-round. I have two cats and a toddler, so chemical sprays or poisons are right out. We've tried the bait traps, but the ants don't seem to notice them. We called an exterminator, but he wanted to spray poison all over the house. I've tried to eliminate everything they would be attracted to, but they still keep coming in. I even bought a $100 sealed trash bin and put all my cereals, sugar, pasta, etc. in airtight containers. I keep the house very clean, but the ants are everywhere. I've even noticed them marching around in the bathrooms and the laundry room-- places where there is absolutely nothing edible. What do I do?

I am a young builder working for a small building contractor locally.I have learnt many things over the years & feel it is time to move on, on my own.A mate of mine that I have worked for is moveing soon.He has asked me if i can remove some interior walls.I have suggested to him that he will need a engineer to work out the weight distribution for what size steel we need,to hold the floor up above.I also told him that we need to comply with the building regs.He says, no we dont need any of them and dosent want to.Where do I stand with building regs?Do we need to tell the council & get a builder inspector?Whos responsable?Do we need an engineer? Please help.

You get what you pay for: i have a sofa and loveseat that i purchased brand new and the threading is coming out on the right corner of both. Can i rethread this myself? What type of needle and thread would i need? The seller of the set went out of business. I only payed $600 for both so i dont want them reupholstred. We are buying a new set this summer but for now it is an eyesore. My other option is to purchase slipcovers i would be spending about $200 for those.

I'm renting a place in Columbus, Ohio. It seems to have been built in the 1970s but all the windows are single pane and they open to the side. It is so cold next to the window there might as well be nothing there. I think the frame is aluminum. I guess I'm trying to ask if the landlord was supposed to replace the windows before he accepted new tenants this past year. Am I liable for anything or am I just stuck?

Does this affect the heat in the room?
Does this affect the efficiency of the furnace?

If a room doesn't have a cold air return, is it worth the expense to try to add one?
