I have jammed the shredder at work and am trying to figure out how to dissolve the paper without damaging the metal and plastic parts. I've tried WD 40 to grease up the paper but it didn't work - it didn't soften the paper at all. I will try shredder oil as soon as i get some (btw do u know which is the best brand for this sorta thing) If anyone has any ideas please share!

Here is my story-putting an addition on to home-inspector has a copy of floor plan-after 5 months of construction (ourselves) we had to have inspector OK everything again, so we could insulate, drywall etc. He said that we do not have enough natural light coming in and have to put another window in! There is only 1 exterior wall and 2 --2'2'' x 3'10" already installed in our 14" x 18" bedroom and we do not want a skylight in our room, so we are not sure what were going to do. Anyway I think this should have been known, before building and the plan not OK'd. So, I think he is wrong in how he calculated #"s on my walls yesterday or the possibility that the designer was wrong in determining size of windows and inspector was still wrong for obviously not reviewing plans before. I can't figure his scribble #s out. Can anyone help me, please? I am ready to go insane with this entire construction nightmare! I hope everybody is having a good start of 2007! GOOD DAY!

Our landlord says that it is just fine, however everywhere I look that seems wrong. Our apartment is freezing and they claim that it is just right. They are refusing us new windows (they are very drafty) and new heaters. The apartment above and below us is at least 30 degress warmer. Is there any official information about what the temperature in the boiler/water piipes should that I can print and show my landlord. They refuse to believe us when we say it should be warmer. So far their solution has been to duct tape our windows and put up sheet rock - however neither have anything to do with the windows or the heaters. Please help!

The vinyl floor in my kitchen is all torn up from 3 dogs running across it to go outside. One dog is a pitt bull and 2 are Great Danes. I need to replace the floor but, I need something that can stand up to two 120 pound dogs. Is there a vinyl floor that can stand up to this? I would like to use vinyl and be able to put it in the bathroom as well. Let me know, thanks!!

My great room has white kitchen cabinets on two walls, but I have dark granite countertops. I would like to paint the walls behind the cabinets a green color that is in the countertop, but want the walls in the living room area to be a lighter creamy butter shade that is also in the granite top, as I dont want the entire room to be in the dark color. Is this too much contrast?

It is needed to store and protect a full size futon mattress. I need both the protection and size reduction a space bag or pak bag offers. I saw such a product made in China for ordering in bulk by other companies but could find no other connection.

Why would you have neutral for 120VAC and not for 208/240VAC. ALso, if you measure current on a 120VAC conductor, what would neutral measure, since ground & neutral are bonded at the panel.
What case would you measure current on neutral. I have a situation measuring 10 volts A.C between neutral & ground, WHY?

I've always washed my undies in the washing machine, but I've just invested £150 in brand new bras and lace french knickers, I wanna make them last. I have like a delicates bag is it ok to wash them in that in the machine on a delicates wash? I know this sounds ridiculous but how do you handwash undies?? Do you use hot/ warm water, and just washing powder or do you use a special detergent? Do you leave them to soak or do you like swish em about a bit and wring em out??? And any tips to make em not go like cardboard if you hang em out to dry?? I know this sounds so daft!!! Thanks girls!

I am going to rent one of those steam cleaning machines.

Should I use a certain method (such as only going up and down or side to side)? Do certain stain removers work better than others?
Are there enviro-friendly cleaners to work with? Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

I want to put up a few decorations for my daughter's birthday party on Saturday - they wouldn't be up very long, but I'm worried about scotch tape taking the finish off of walls, furniture, etc. Is there any kind of adhesive that would be safe?
