Wash your clothes as you would regularly. When you get to the rinse cycle, add a cup of vinegar. The vinegar will eat the odors. When you get the clothing out of the washer, they will smell like vinegar. Don't fret, once the clothing has been dried, the vinegar evaporates. You can add a fabric sheet to make it smell good if you like. Good Luck =0)

Hi Louise, the best way to get the smell out is just to wash your clothes in a washing machine. The quick way, if you don't want to wash them or don't have a washing machine, is to just soak the clothes in water (hot or cold) for a minute or two and just hang to dry overnight. Hope this helps.

OxyClean in the wash water helps. If its white clothes use a little extra bleach and if colored use about 1/4 the amount of bleach you would normally use(Let the wash tub fill up all the way before adding the bleach). If its really bad it may take more than one washing.

Just wash as usual w/ a good detergent. Liquid fabric softener also cuts smells, if the detergent for some reason failed at getting it out.

Washing itself should do the trick, but I did see on an episode of Mythbusters that they used Vodka to get rid of cigarette smoke off of clothes, and according to their tests, it worked.

Add 20MuleTeam Borax or whatever brand you have locally to all clothes it gives it a fresh natural scent and makes them whiter too! Usually found on the top shelf I just found out about it a few months ago.. great stuff!.
