I want to get a new mattress, but would really like to keep the price down. We have an air mattress now, and I don't want another one. Since we will be moving in about four or five months, we are waiting to buy major furniture, so we won't be needing a box spring. Again, my budget is $300--maybe a bit more.

because I'm moving across the country with my family and am staying at my aunt's house until we find a place. we can only take necessities like clothes, etc. and I'll be in a little tiny about 4x8 ft. bedroom, with just a bed in it for a few months. (not literally inside the bedroom for a few months.) so how can I sort of make it my own room and feel like home without bringing useless crap?

Okay, If I'm going to make an opening for doors (30", 32", 36", etc.) and closets similar in opening, and the height being 80 and 1/2 to 81 and 1/2 inches, do I need to sheet rock the wood frame, or does the trim of the "pre-hung door," set up takes care of that issue? The same goes with the closet. I'm setting up two bifolds. Does the same aply?

I have a black light in my room and thought it would look cool if I painted my ceiling white so it would glow in the dark. Also, I did some research on 'black lights' and it said something about Phosphors in todays paint.

Okay I have now purchased two Dawn Foam Soap dispensers and both leak somewhere. I can't find the source but always end up with a ring of soap on the counter underneath the bottle. Anyone else have this problem?? I like the instant foam but hate the mess!

Does anyone have a home recipe for carpet cleaning. I spilt red wine on my new carpet and my home remedy of baking soda and warm water did work to a degree but now there is a dark patch on the carpet. Any useful home made enviromentally friendly cleanning recipes would be great. Thanks.

I ran out of K-1 last night and had 100 gallons delivered today. Now the heater isn't running right. I've been on the phone off and on all day with my oil company's service department and they have walked me thru several steps but nothing seems to work. I DO NOT have an owner's manual for the heater. After it heats up to the set temperature it shuts itself off. It is not set on auto or economy. I have pushed and held down the red button on the side. I do not know what, if anything, needs to be done with the reset temperature guage on the side. I have turned it on and off and also unplugged it, waited, then plugged it back in. The burner does ignite as I do see it glowing when looking into the front. The valve is open inside and also outside on the tank. It makes a ticking or tapping noise when it is heating up. Please can someone help me with this, we are freezing up here in the Northeast!

I have a brown carpet with an area rug that is beige and has subtle colors like rust, red, green, and a dusty greyish purple. They are very muted colors. I have a tan/beige brown couch that is huge! and the throw pillows are the burnt orange color and a large scale toile with colors from the rug on an ivory background. I have dark brown furniture. I live in an apartment and the walls are white. I need to buy curtaind for the large window that has no furniture on that wall to anchor it. So I am wondering if I buy a striped curtain or solid and what color? I need to keep the room from looking like a cave. I was thinking a brownish honey strip or an ivory and brown stripe. But will the ivory get lost against the white walls?

My LL says it's my responsibility as part of normal maintenance. The contract says "the tenant will properly use, operate & safeguard the Premises (I do)... keep them clean... The tenant shall be charged for all repairs caused by tenants, etc., excluding ordinary wear and tear." This home is only a few year old so it seems a little too new to have a problem but I haven't done anything to cause the leak. Help!

For english, my class was split into groups. Toight my group met in the library and finished our assignment. We strayed from the assignment and started talking about other things and they started talking about people they didn't like.. A girl in my group said, " you think that's bad, I have to work with..." she was talking about partner assignment. It's just that that person is my best friend.
Should I have said something?

It made it worse when another girl in the group said loudly in front of me, "don't say that, she diane's (me) friend."

I feel like I have been a bad friend, I didn't say anything to defend her. But I wasn't sure if I should have. I mean isn't everyone entitled to their own opinion. Everybody hates other people. I know that she still shouldn't have said it in front of me.But she didn't realize it. My friend isn't exactly the most popular person in the school and I have to admit that I didn't like her at first. It was only when I hung out with her a

I'd like to know how much certain things like computers, flat screens, refrigerators, etc. are costing me to run. Is there a meter that can help me figure this out? I know how much I pay per kilowatt hour. I'd like to measure my fridge for example versus a more efficient one and figure out if it pays to replace it. Thanks!
