Purple and yellow are a complementary pair of colors, like orange/blue and green/red. In a yellow room, purple would be a good accent here and there, but if you have large amounts of both, they will be pretty jarring.

They contrast which means they do not really match. Purple and yellow or blue and orange combo are great for sports team jerseys but not for a decorating palette.
Although, there are patterns like florals for example with purple and yellow in it with OTHER colors in it also that make them work together.

Purple and yellow are complimentary colors and so they go together well. That's why they are usually together with Easter color stuff. Mind you, it's not my favorite color match but yes, they are made to go together.

Yeah, but be sure it's not purple top and yellow bottom. It should be yellow top and purple bottom. ha ha.. No really, make sure there's another color to complement the get up wonder-twin.

I don't know about yellow, but purple and gold works well for the Los Angeles Lakers. They get chosen for best uniforms all the time!
