If you're using powdered laundry soap try putting it in the washer first, fill with water, then put the clothes in. I use liquid to prevent the problem.

grease or oil
probably from your hands... be careful to use a napkin

you can use a simple detergent like dawn just a drop
set the clothes over a big bowl ,metal or glass
and pour some boiling water through it ...only one thickness
then wash as usual.
that does the trick most of the time

the other answers are wrong

Hi, sounds like fabric softener to me has happened to me too and it is only to be added in the last rinse, perhaps you could wait until the machine is full before adding it. If it is the soap power dilute it in Hot water first and then add to the machine when it has finished filling. It could be the machine needs a clean too. Good luck.

i'm not sure about your question did you hand wash it or you use a washer.
I think you just put too much detergent to wash your clothes.
