I want to get a new mattress, but would really like to keep the price down. We have an air mattress now, and I don't want another one. Since we will be moving in about four or five months, we are waiting to buy major furniture, so we won't be needing a box spring. Again, my budget is $300--maybe a bit more.

My wife and I bought a memory foam mattress (10" queen) on Overstock for $600. It's great.

Later, at WalMart, we saw a foam mattress (8" queen) for about $250. We're interested, and may get one for a guest room. WalMart has a platform frame for $84 (in store). I don't know if the foam mattress is "memory" or latex.

When it comes to buying time, we'll probably do it this way.
