sit out bowls of vinegar. my mom used to do this. they absorb the smells in the house. boil a pot of water with potpourri in it.also once you do this keep incense and oil burners around they help. plug-ins help. for personal body smell try some body sprays to keep in your purse and yes febreeze works as well.

I understand. I have a tiny kitchen and it "holds" unpleasant cooking odors for the longest time. My kitchen has an exhaust fan, which I use, but no window that I can even open just a little to get some fresh air circulating.
I just try to remove the offending food "remains" as soon as possible and make sure I've taken the garbage out. Getting rid of scraps that smell offensive is helpful. I try to open some windows somewhere and let the house air out.
I've had good luck with candles that are specifically made for kitchen odors. Williams-Sonoma has a line of such products. Also, I have purchased a candle called Clean Air Spice that is wonderful for kitchen odors. I think their ad says this fragrance will remove any kitchen odor. It has a nice.clean smell. Clealn Air Spice is made by a company called County Bears Mountain Candles.
They have a website: www.countybears.net
You can probably find some information about the kitchen candles on their website.
Just try spritzing your clothes with Febreeze before you go to school. Some kids are just rude, no matter what. Ignore them. They're not worth getting upset over.

I have the perfect solution that i use myself for similair problems. It is a product called FRIDGE IT odor absorbers. It is a little purple cube with an activated carbon filter inside that is really great. It works so much better than baking soda and all those sprays. I'm not particulary fond of fragrances that just cover up odors and do nothing to get rid of them. Also, most have warning statements on them as eye irritants. Just place some of these odor absorbers around the house and in kitchen. No messy pieces or carbon powder to worry about. The carbon filter in this product literally eliminates the odors and works for a long time. I use this product everywhere including my fridge and freezer and also under sinks, near trash, closets, drawers and have friends that use it on cat litter box and also diaper pails - it's that good. I really recommend it and it's not expensive. You can buy it in kitchen gadget sections in stores like walmart and linens and things. I also think camping world sells it. Definitely worth trying. It's the best product for any odors around the house.

Problem is, it's your mom's home, too. Can you keep your bedroom door closed to keep the fish smell out of your bedroom. Clean everything in your bedroom (clothing and especially bedding that might hold the smell), leave the window open a crack, paint the bedroom.
Don't bathe before bed; wash your hair and bathe each morning (before going to school) instead.
If you can't do any of that, don't let the mean remarks bother you because you will move beyond that one day. At least you have a good diet. Some people love fish and it's good for you.

Fabreeze is a good solution for your clothing. Baking Soda placed in a dish near to the cooking stove might help with the odors in kitchen, but there is also a Fabreeze Air Spray that is suppose to remove odor from the air as opposed to just putting a floral odor to mask it.

Try using Arm and Hammer in open containers. It also works great in the fridge to eliminate odor.
