the ceilings in the room are only 8 feet tall. currently the room has zero built in lights. I wish to use the space for exercise, yoga, & kids' play room. I am looking for a built in lighting solution that will not get in the way of a yoga class with all members' arms reaching high. The ceiling joicings are sparatic and do not lend themselves to recessed cans. I am wondering if a ½" rope light running the length of the tops of each wall will provide enough light. also, can rope lights be dimmed & cut to specific lengths? the room is roughly 350 sq. feet.

I am trying to find my home's propane connection. I just moved into a new home and I can not figure out which propane tank is mine, I have looked everywhere! I found a tank that is at the house next door, but I am not sure if it is connected to me and my house or not! If anyone has an idea on how to find my tank please let me know. I have found the main hookup to the house and there is a lock on it! Thank you in advance!

I live in central Indiana, Bloomington. My father has given me some land to build on. I am a real do-it-yourself kind of person. Anyone have any suggestions? I like to save money doing it myself than pay someone else to do it. I am trying to get an idea on what I want to build. Is it easier to build one story vs two? What about energy costs? I don't want a big house, something small and simple, two bedrooms. I have lucked out, and have city water and sewer and electricty already run through the area (my dad has a house on the land too). What type of foundation should I look into? I prefer a slab, but would that work in my area? Sorry about all the questions, does anyone know anything to help?

I normally would take this as an easy project but this bed has wheels on it so putting it on a platform will have it just roll off...

I'm looking to make the whole bed (including frame) raise up 2 more inches.

any cheap ideas?

(must not be noticeable at the bottom of the bed)

1 month ago, I've left my african violet with my neighbour while I was on holiday. Instructed not to water from top, but I think she has forgotten! Now my precious plant has withering leaves, soft, brown and looking very sick. How to revive it? Please help!

I think they are originally from Germany but I saw them in Mexico. They used to be done with electricity but now there are some that use solar power. Usually done with a push of a button mounted on a wall.

Am redecorating our flat, (we rent) landlord said I could pick out any color I want, now she got burned by her sister on a bunch of chocolate brown colored carpet. So if I want carpet thats what I'm getting. My original idea was to go with lt sage on the walls, some kind of tan or beige carpet lt bl trim in the living room and a gold color trim in dining room (rooms flow together. I have big med blue area rug and new blue and white curtains in there in the dining room I have big brick red area rug and creme colored curtains. So what new color scheme would be good so everything comes together. It is a very small space so I cant do any drk colors, want it to feel light and airy, and would like to stay away from browns and beiges but I dont know if I will be able Any suggestions? Also the wood floors look like crap so not an option.

I have wood cabinets that have been painted. How do I prepare and paint again? Have had friends try to paint theirs and it would bead up - I guess they were using latex on oil. If mine are oil now, what is the easiest way to paint over them?

I counted around 20 pairs of socks and underwear, all socks were recovered, but 2 pairs of underwear missing. Machine won't run now, and there's a wierd straining sound each time i turn it on. What do you think happened? could i try to rectify problem myself, instead of spending hundreds on getting the repairman to come over? thanks.

Any other ways to cool the room down without spending a fortune on blinds?

Maybe someone with experience can answer this. Looking to buy about 20 interior doors that would look nice in a log home. Our builder would stain them. Pine would be fine. Looking to spend about $200 per door (material only). Suggestions? The house is located in Western Maryland. Thanks

It washes off with water, but it not kept in check will eventually kill the plant. Does anyone know what this is or how to prevent it?
