Maybe someone with experience can answer this. Looking to buy about 20 interior doors that would look nice in a log home. Our builder would stain them. Pine would be fine. Looking to spend about $200 per door (material only). Suggestions? The house is located in Western Maryland. Thanks

Please don't suggest Lowes or Home Depot.

We just finished building our log home in so east michigan. We put in six panel solid pine doors. Chose pocket doors for most of them because of floor space savings. We bought our interior doors from Lowes, although I am not suggesting you should. They were the lowest price and good quality. We do have one fire rated knotty pine door out to the attached garage, it was nearly $1,000. The slabs from Lowes were around $90 each. I priced doors at several lumber yards and all were at least double that price. This company has kpp doors http://www.woodworkersshoppe.com/doors.htm

No offense but your idea of spending $200 per door is a bit unrealistic (low) -especially for a solid wood door. You may be able to find a solid core door that has a wood veneer but you'll have to do some shopping around. Try a company called "Innovative Openings", they're very knowledgeable and good at finding oddball sizes.

Since you're building a log home have you thought of having a skilled carpenter make them? This option would give you the best looking doors but would run in the neighborhood or $300-400 each.

Good Luck!
