Perhaps you used the wrong setting initially. Did you set the dial so that it would run the full cycle? Maybe it was only a fluke, then and you forgot to let it run the full cycle.
A quick way to see if the machine is okay is to let the machine fill with water as if you were going to do a wash. Then turn the dial to spin. It will take few seconds, but you should see the water draining.
If not, call service.

My guess is that the motor coupling has broken and the washer is not spinning or agitating. Start the machine without clothes or soap and let it fill on a small load. If it does not agitate but you hear the motor running the motor coupling is bad. Stop the machine and set the timer for the final spin. If it does not spin but the water pumps out you have confirmed the motor coupling is bad.

A motor coupling is not a major job and does not cost much and the repairman should have one on the truck.

Why didn't you run the spin cycle again? What did you expect? Spend the time to see if the machine is working correctly on all cycles. You just put in a load of clothes and watch what happens.

Usually more water is pumped in for the rinse cycle and than it is drained out during the spin cycle. Try turning on the washer with nothing in it to rinse cycle and starting it and than see if it completely drains out during the empty spin cycle. You may hear the water gurgling out of the machine into the drain from the pump (I do on mine).

It sounds like a machine fault , could be a blocked outlet pipe or clogged filter ,Check the manual for basic maintenance try it again and if you have no joy and its still under warranty, then its best to get in touch with the store

You may have had to big a load and the washer couldn't spin fast enough to take the water out
