I would like an addition added to my entry porch. Aprox 6' x 8' with full width steps and tin roof. Any one care to supply the brawn and tools for this undertaking -- if I promise to stay out of the way!?! Oh, cash job.

I have a 1988 liquid (water) underfloor heating system heated from a conventional oil boiler. The main system was from a 6 branch manifold where each branch fed through a PARRALEL network of pipes under a certain house floor plan section. The manufacturer likened it to 'radiator' sections under the floor. I now see that this is totally crap as water (or most things) flows through point of least resistance and therefore, this allows sediment to build up in 'radiator' sections under the floor. Last time this happened when we changed from a Rayburn solid fuel boiler to the oil boiler, we managed to clear most (if not all) the sections by feeding the circuits with some sludge remover liquid over some weeks and then refilling with some preventative solution. That was around 6 years ago and it's been OK since then. This last work has been caried out by ' someone who knows everything' and now the stystem is blocked because he did not flush the system through and treat with preventative. ????

The kit is a large plastic sheet (20X30feet) laid over plastic pipe frame. You fill it with a few inches of water and the cold of winter is supposed to make it freeze. But it is never cold enough so it is mostly water with a ittle ice. Are there off-the shelf systems that could be used to freeze it? I could possibly build a unit if the proper equipment is available. It would need to run on a standard 120V outlet.

I have a bunch of tree roots that have invaded my sewer line, and I'm avoiding the obvious -- the $4500 project of getting it re-piped. Getting it snaked works (every 6 months), but it costs over $100 each time. I'd like to try RootX and wanted to know if it really works. Thanks!

I will be having a custom cushion made to fit the space. I want it to be thick enough that you could sleep on it. Any internet resources would be helpful as I will have to order it.

Let me start by saying that I do not wish to hear responses about ghosts. They do not exist, period.

On to the issue. A few interior room and closet doors either want to slowly swing open when I partially close them or swing closed when I open them. Id like them to stay put. My guess is that since 1886 when the house was built there has been some settling of the foundation and the house isnt perfectly level. So I need some advice on the best way to fix them. Should I shim the hinges, and if so, which one for each condition? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks and have a happy new year everyone.

During the contract period on a home purchase we had a 3 day radon test done by a professional back in 09/2006. The test showed that the radon was at 2.4 piC/L. We bought the home and had another short-term test done two weeks ago (we had an extra mail-in test kit and were curious). This test shows the level at 30! Do radon levels vary this much or is it more likely that one of the tests is in error? In October, we did have a bathroom put into the basement which required some concrete work to run the drain line. Can this be the reason? We are getting another test done to confirm the level but are very concerned that someone may have tampered with the initial test before we bought the home (the home was occupied by the sellers at that time). Thanks.

I'm a natural pack-rat, but I need to get rid of all the empty prescription pill bottles that have been piling up. Is there anything better than just pitching them in the trash?

Went to the hardware store to buy a new tank and they asked for the tank number. They told me it was on the back near the water intake. Nothing back there on my tank. This is an old tank, probably been in this home since it was built in the early 70s.
