There are powders you can buy from feed/farm stores. There are also sprays that you can use and these can be purchased from the same type of store.

they on the instant are actually not horseflys. A horse fly is vast (approximately 5 inchs long ) and feels like an excellent brown dragon fly with atitude. they're extremely uncommon and extremely territorial,horseflys can stay 7 years.

But seriously, one of the most effective methods is good old fashioned fly paper. There is one company (sorry I don't have the name off hand) that makes it in small transparent sheets that you can place in the corner of a window. The flies are naturally drawn to the window because of the light and will eventually get stuck in the paper in the corner. It is very effective, but gets kind of gross if you don't change out the paper regularly.

They have these traps that people can make or you can prob. get one on line, I know you can look it up and find out how to make em...
Went to the jersey shore last summer ...they were every where but people could keep them away from their homes with these traps...good luck...I hate them...it hurts ssoooooo much when they bite!!!
