I don't think you can PREVENT shrinking.. but you can minimize it by washing in cold water... and allowing to hang dry.

Cold water to wash it then air dry---shake out the wrinkles.Hang it on a hanger and if possible,turn on a fan they will dry faster....

don't put it in the dryer. just hang it outside. or just put it in the dryer on low. it wont shrink
