the wind, I pushed it to latch. Now I can not figure out how to unlatch it. I have looked for a trip mech. but don't really know what I am looking at. My only arternative is to remove it from the door and I kind of like the feature, although I have never used it. Now I can not leave the house. The lock is on the left side of the door and pushed a bar into the rail. Can anyone please help me?

It's been cold here lately. The temp inside the house will get to about 58-62 degrees overnight or during the day if the heater is not on. Is it best to just turn the heater on at night and in the mornings or leave it on at about 62-65 degrees all the time? What's most energy efficient? It takes about 1 hr to heat from 58-69.

I love those rustic wood tables that are so shiny on top that it looks like melted glass. What is that stuff called and is it available at Lowes or Home Depot?

I have bog standard radiators that have just the normal feed valves to and from it. All of the white caps that you turn to turn the radiator off have all broken as they were very brittle. As a result I'm reduced to doing it with a pair of pliars.

I've tried searching for new ones by putting in searches like "radiator valve caps" or "feed valve caps" but nothing. Does anyone know what these are exactly called or where I can get them from. I've tried plumbing websites and B&Q but nothing.

Anyone out there a plumber who knows?

My furnace appears to respond to my thermostat, when I shut it off and turn it back on, the motor kicks on, the pilot light turns on and the fan starts blowing, but the burners just don't seem to ignite to heat the air being pushed through...we've tried blowing out the burners to remove any dust that may have clogged them, that doesn't seem to help. However, just shutting off the power to the furnace for 10 minutes and then turning it back on seems to help, temporarily. Any ideas what the problem may be and how to fix before I call a repair man?

Hi, if a burgular wanted to get into your home to steal something would they still do it if a 14 year old boy was in the house? I live in a fairly big house in a village and in the local area we are known to have quite a bit in the house like jewles and other things but if one day i was in the house, would a burgular still come in the house to steal or go away because i was in the house....
