Marble and ceramic tile is used in showers. Why not granite?

It is more expensive. However it is used in the showers in higher- end houses and condos. I saw one with a black granite shower stall that had multiple shower heads and a steam option, all of that in chrome which looked great against the black of the granite.

man made granite--granite like stone or corian is widely used in showers, real granite is o.k. too, but costly, heavy and has a limited choice of colours to choose; for floors non-slip tiles are better.

it is; but it's too expensive for most people. it's mostly for looks because of the slip factor.

It's slippery. You could fall and break your neck.
