I have a candle in a wide glass (from IKEA) and it's burnt about as much as it can. What's the best way of getting that last cm or so of wax out so that I can use the glass for something else, or at least recycle it without the gunk on the bottom?

Thanks.

I bought Target's Winter Solstice tableware a few years back and have been looking for things to add since then. I have checked the websites of all major department stores, plus Target and a few others. Are there any unique, nontraditional christmas websites out there?

Does anyone have a creative suggestion for what to do with the "third category" of mail items....things that are not bills or important papers (which I have a place for already so I don't forget to pay them and/or file them) but that are not true "junk mail" that I can throw away? I'm talking about things like coupons, "calendars of events" for parks and recreation and such, etc? I really don't want a refrigerator covered with clutter, but I need to keep these things semi-visible where I don't forget to look at them periodically, but not piled up on my dining room table? Thanks for any help!

Once I see them, I spray them, but it's already too late by that time - the infestation is on! Do I need to replace or treat the soil to kill eggs or what?

Hello! My son was playing in the basement on his computer this morning. All of a sudden, all of the power went out in the basement. (Lights, dehumidifier, computer, etc) We tried resetting the fuse box, but to no avail. Nothing else in the house is off. Any ideas? Suggestions? Thanks!

The freezer quit working and we didn't know it. Needless to say we had to throw out everything that was in it. Now there is a HORRIBLE odor in the freezer. We have tried putting boxes of baking soda in it, as well as just spreading baking soda too. The odor is still there. How can I get rid of the odor? I do not want to pay to have it fixed if it will never be able to be used because of the smell.

We are trying to decide if we should just buy some slip covers for some nice and comfortable couch and loveseat pair. The only problem is they're blue. Or, if we should just go buy a new sofa and maybe an over-sized matching chair. Which is better and why?

I have a brand new dishwasher that's going to replace the old one. Would a reasonably smart woman be able to do this even though I've never done this type of work before?

We're looking have a new bathroom installed in our basement which will require cutting into the concrete to tie into the sewer line.

We're talking small in size, max 6x5, shower stall/sink/toilet. The hot & cold supplies are right there from our laundry room and we're not looking for any fancy tile or whatnot: Just the fixtures (mid grade), some sheet vinyl and drywall, and I'll need a small space heater.

We've had several people come in for estimates (after many, many calls - why is it so hard to get contractors to call back?) and I made sure they were all long-standing, recommended vendors and not fly-by-nighters.

Now what surprised me: The estimates for the same job run from $2000 to $7500! I expected some spread, but nothing like this! I'm now at a loss. I don't mind paying for quality work but I sure don't want to overpay by thousands.

Does anyone please have an idea of idea of cost/per sf for installing a bathroom like this in Souteastern PA?
