Some guy threw up in the hallway last night and the carpet stinks now. It's clean of sick, its not like you can see it, but it still smells.

Can anyone suggest the best way of ridding the smell?

Off Grid power options?

If so, what type of alternate power system(s) are you using?

Solar? ---(I think very expensive and in this part of the country, not enough sun.)

Hydro-electric? ---(may be a viable choice if I have enough current running through my stream and or enough head from a waterfall)

Wind? --- (If It is installed high enough and does not obscure.)

Diesel Generator---(may be ok if underground, low speed, water cooled)

We are planning to build a log home in up-state Pa. as a second home for now, but our primary residence in a few years.

Thanks in advance for your answers!

I have about 20 or so Cowboy hats both felt and straw, and I was trying to figure out what I could do with them besides hang them on the wall. Is there anybody out there that has any neat ideas that I could do with my old hats. I am not above cutting, painting, or doing what ever to them. I love these old hats and really would hate to just throw them away, they have seen many miles and I would love to still be able to incorporate them in my life. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I was going to exchange contracts, however an inspection revealled a large damp patch in the utility room on the wall and ceiliing near the boiler.

Upon further inspection I noticed that the ensuite floor had a large wet patch around it. I also noticed that outside the brickwork around the overflow pipe was very wet. The estate agent said doesnt look like much. I am concerned that I will buy the house and end up with a very expensive repair.

Knowone lives at the place as the owner passed away and its the brother who is selling it. The agent threatened me by saying that if I am being awkward then there is a liklyhood the seller may pull out. Its strange he said that considering he did not speak to the seller(brother)

I am not sure if I can tell them to claim on the insurance so that I get peace of mind as I assume any water leak damage would be covered. I am worried it could cost thousands.

I also noticed that there was a slate missing and the guttering looked bad.

We live in the SF bay area, just planted an asian pear tree. The leaves are turning which could indicate the change in weather if the tree is suppose to lose it's leaves. If not then I might be watering it too much.
