she "conviently" forgets to do them. So her father and i end up doing them. i know kids don't look at chores as their all time favorite pass time, but we are trying to teach her to be a responsible child who will grow into a responsible adult. We dont believe in giving her an allowance....but i think she needs some sort of incentive to keep doing them on a regular basis.

I baught a house that has a garage with broken glass block windows in it. I want to replace them as soon as possible in the most inexpensive way. It is said that you pay people more for labor, so we measured and bought new glass block already incased. I need to break out what is already there before I install the new. covers of a sofa? I have a cream sofa with covers that I can remove and wash at 30 degrees but I was wondering what detergent to use? Is there some sort of protector such as scotchgard that can be added to the wash to prevent them getting dirty again very quickly?

The majority of my house is ceramic tile and apparently the old owner did not beleive in using masking tape or tarps when he painted. Because of this, there's a ton of little paint spots and splats all over the floor from repainting. Does anyone know a good way to get all of these spots up without damaging the tile?

Thank you!

I am getting ready to install a vent free propane heating device in my home, I have looked at the BLUE FLAME, INFARED, and the GAS LOG FIREPLACE, but can't decide which will be the best. The midwest weather gets pretty cold but not like the N and NE states, any stats or suggestions

The wall, in between our living room and bedroom, has crack from the ceiling down the wall on our bedroom side. The wall is also bowed out about 1-1 1/2 foot. There is also a crack above the door, on the ceiling. My husband got up in the attic to check for water, but didn't find any. What do you think it could be?

I am going to build a ledge in my garage it will go the width of it and go back about 3-4 feet. I want to add space so this would allow me to park under the ledge. Does any one know where I could get plans for this? I have an idea how to do it but I don’t want this to fall on to my car so I want to do it right

Looking to spruce up my old house to sell. Carpet in bedrooms is old and worn, thin loop type carpet with attached backing. House is very old and floors are un-even. Tearing up old carpet and scraping and leveling floor would be tons of work. Ok to put down a foam underlayment over the old stuff and lay wood floor over?
