A better question would be: what on earth would make you think you could accuratly and consistantly forcast the weather?

For all the science behind weather forcasting, and all our knowledge of meteorology, weather forcasting (regardless of country) still deals with alot of random, unpredictable elements. Even with computer models, it is impossible to generate a 100% complete model of our atmosphere, account for every detail and variable down to the tiniest, and make a completely accurate prediction. There is just too much to take into account.

What they can do is make a reasonably accurate model, and try to get a good idea of what the weather is going to do. Sometimes this works well, sometimes they are off. But weathermen are only human, they are finite minded like the rest of us and capable of error, and they can't see into the future. They can only use good science to TRY and get a good idea of what will happen with the weather.

In the UK, we have a maritime climate. That means that the weather comes in off the Atlantic Ocean. We can tell what's coming, but we can't be sure whether it's going to finish up over Southern England, the Shetlands or Spain.

It's no comfort when they tell you it's going to be fine, and it turns out the sunny bit is 200 miles away.

Oh you don't know how much I agree with you,and they waffle on non stop with their lack of knowledge, and have you noticed on the BBC how long they have to say their piece,I think very soon the weather forecast will have its own show and be on for an hour, can you imagine how boring that will be.
Get rid of the is what I say.

I disagree with you, on the whole I find the forcast is usually pretty accurate.

It isn't - it's normally pretty accurate. It's still not a perfect science but it's improved massively over the last couple decades.

Back in the 70s/80s it was very inaccurate.

there are any such enormous volume of climate forecaster on each and every of the numerous channels and that all of them seem to furnish diverse variations of what's going to ensue day after today and it in a number of of situations doesn't ( its going to be an outstanding day 4 AUG my previous due Dads birthday and in a number of of situations its sunny)

They're not - you just don't notice when it is right. Anyway weather prediction's never going to be completely accurate, it's too complex of a system to predict over more then a day or so

Yes, most definitely the global warming conspiracy. No seriously, I wish I knew. Maybe some comfort in knowing that they don't do much better at it in the US!?

Sometimes it is. But usually it is too vague.
Showers and sunny intervals can mean nearly anything
