my mum swears by wool carpets they are so easy to clean and take care of she has had hers for ten years and its still in perfect condition

Nylon is cheaper and a little easier to clean. Wool is infinitely superior; wears longer, looks better, and repels most dirt and stains.
I have 30 year old Persian rugs on my hardwood floors. Everything you can imagine has been spilled, vomited, or otherwise deposited on them and they have endured pet and human traffic without showing any signs of wear.
They are also less flammable.

Wool is better, but I prefer wooden floors!

wool is better for people with allergies and best of all is just wooden floors
