I am going to build a ledge in my garage it will go the width of it and go back about 3-4 feet. I want to add space so this would allow me to park under the ledge. Does any one know where I could get plans for this? I have an idea how to do it but I don’t want this to fall on to my car so I want to do it right

I don't know where you could get plains for something like that,It's really simple but you do need some basic carpentry knowledge. Use your rafters to support your ledge & anker the back to the wall. You buld it like a suspended floor on 24 inch centers. you could probbly get by with 4 ft. spaceings on your outer edge supports. your lumber store should be able to advise you further.

I built some shelves for my garage. Used 2x4's to frame the shelf, nailed some 5/8" OSB on top of it to form the shelf. Then used 2x4's to support the shelf on the outside from the floor and nailed the shelf 2x4's to the garage wall. Then painted everything. Simple to do and works great. (ceiling in my garage is finished so I didn't want to mess with it to drop 2x4's down to suspend the shelves).
