My toilet has occassional fits where the water fills into the bowl but does not go away, i think it may be suffering an airlock, as when the water from the cistern stops filling, the water in the bowl keeps rising and spilling out. The bath, sink and toilet use the same downpipe to the ground floor which is then joined by the washing machine and kitchen sink. I have had it rodded and have also checked no birds nest in the vent pipe. What should I try next?

My parents have a lot of trees on their property, and some of the limbs break and fall off during storms. They frequently fall on a neighbor's property. I was wondering if anybody knows who's legal responsibility it is to pay to clean them up. A source would be useful too.

There is an irregular water mark stretching either side of my chimney breast on the ground floor - its definatley not rising damp as it only appears midway up the wall (about 30 cm from the ground) - we've had the place professionally dampcoursed, as did the people before us. The plaster was left 20 cm or so off the ground and we've put the skirtings on correctly. The damp appears no where else in the house. We live in a midterrace Victorian cottage. I've noticed it has got worse lately with the rain - our neighbours don't have any such problems and we are stumped. Can anyone explain this????

The garden faces south getting full sun for most of the day.A few of the plants have survived transplant shock but others look about half dead. I planted a dwarf mulberry tree/bush,and some butterfly attractering flowers as well as a topiary. The leaves are falling off of the topiary despite my feeding it. I ised root stimulater and have fed the plants Peters plant food. I also incorporated some organic soil mixed into the existing snad/dirt. Any suggestions on what else I can do to help these plants? Maybe I'm deluding myself trying to create a country cottage type of look for my FL garden, lol?
