I took the old light off my ceiling to replace with a new one, thinking there would be 3 simple wires. I didn't bank on there being 5! there is one 3-wire cable with Earth, Live(Red) and Neutral(Black) and another 2-wire cable with a black and red, on the black wire there has been a red sheath placed on it.

The new lamp only has the normal 3 wire in a block, where should I place each cable?

Help please!!!

I recently moved into a new apartment that has a gas stove. I have never used one before, and I am just really cautious about using it. Are there any tips for using it that would ensure there are no accidents?

i am replacing a mains light with a halogen mains light. there is olly a single switch for this light, and there is no dimmer.

the wire block coming from the ceiling has 4 sections to attach the wire into. from left to right, the wires going into this block are: green/yellow, black, red, black. the red section of the block already has another red wire coming out of the other side, so fitting to that is not an option.

the wires i have on the halogen light are blue and brown. could somebody give me an idea of which part of the wire block to attach these to?

many thanks in advance.

I am running the wire from the receptacle to the breaker box for a glass door freezer. I am sure that I can wire the receptacle correctly with the diagram but I am very unsure as to what type of breaker I will need. The specs for the product are as follows: 115/208 volts, PH 1, 8.8 amps, Nema 14-20R. I currently have a 20 amp breaker in the breaker box which say 125/240 on it.

I am not an electrician and do not plan on wiring at the box, but would like to know what type of breaker to buy.
