There isn't a practical way to get rid of the mushrooms. The "source" is below the ground and would have to be thoroughly excavated.

The mushrooms can be easily dealt with by using a rake, or your foot to knock them down. This will destroy the top, forcing the mushroom to regrow it. Expending its energy, using up it food source. In time less and less mushrooms will develop.

I know, not very scientific... but it works.

If they are edible mushrooms, you can eat them!

If they are not, why worry because they usually don't last long anyway. They are growing on the site where the tree was removed because the fungal organism is hard at work under the ground digesting the wood of the roots (the mushrooms are just the reproductive structures). It will take a while but it is doing you a favor!!

Go to the gardening section of Home Depot or such... there is chemicals you can put on the lawn to rid it of such things.

Not sure what it's called, but I've seen it.

Good luck.
