Whenever I have my septic tank pumped (every two years), the company that does it always tells me that I need to buy some expensive liquid baterial culture material to "jump start" my septic. Is this true? Is there any benefit of this stuff, or is it a septic pumpers scam? Wouldn't a box or two of Rid-X do the same (for a fraction of the cost)?

I have indoor bad puppies and they have made a mess of my mothers sofa. i need to clean it to take the stains out and the smell out. how do i clean it? with what formula? how do i get the smell out? Thankx

I will be moving in December and am lookng for any suggestions for packing things. I thought it'd be a good idea to start now, rather than save it all for a single weekend, but I have NO idea where to even begin! :) It's really overwhelming, so I thought doing it bit by bit is a good idea. Any suggestions on what I can start packing now? Anyone have any kind of plan or list you've followed when moving yourself? Any websites or groups that offer helpful tips (the ones I've found so far really aren't much help)?

I have bright red mushroom/fungi appearing on my lawn that shrivel at the end of the day. The fungi are spongy, cavernous and have a putrid smell that attracts flys. I live in Miami, have dogs and am afraid of toxicity. I took some good pictures, if anyone is interested or can refer me to someone that is.

We recently had our kitchen renovated and we had to tear down a portion of the wall. We never had a problem with ants until we did this. Now, no matter how much I wipe up after cooking dinner, when I wake up in the morning they are all over the countertop, in the sink, and even in the microwave. We ordered a pizza the other night and I placed it in the microwave to keep the ants out but they still got inside. I purchased this thick syrupy blue stuff. you're supposed to place a drop on the counter and they will eat it and take it back to the queen. It worked temporarily but they keep coming back. Any permanent solutions (aside from setting the whole house on fire...haha)?
