If you want to try to kill a lot yet this fall the only fert. I know of that has a weed killer in it is Scotts Winterizer Plus 2 (find at Lowes, HD, etc) or Scotts Super Winterizer Plus 2. You want to put it down when the lawn is wet, like the morning when the dew is still on the ground but when it isn't going to rain for 24 hours. That will take care of 75-80% of them this fall.

Then next spring around May (depending where you live) you can polish off the rest with a regular weed and feed. Scotts and many other manufacturers make them.)

The chemical is 2-4-d mecoprop. (sp?)

But in most parts of the country and many states it is illegal now to use weed killers.

Try these natural weed killers that I know of:

First spray with a mild solution of dishwashing soap. Then, spray tobacco soaked in water. I collect the cig butts from ash try for this purpose. Filter the tobacco solution before use. Mix with equal amounts of water. Why soap? - for better adhesion. You could also use the soap solution coming out of the clothes washer. Catch it in a bucket instead of letting it go to waste.

For grubs, chinchbugs and other types use flyash or ash from your fireplace. They are acidic - depending on the type of wood burned. Some plants do not like them. But evergreens like acidic soil. So, use your judgement when spraying near plants. This does kill some weeds. Use sparingly - it could burn the grass.

I have had reasonable success for years with these even before all these ban on chemical weed killers came into effect. So, I am sharing this with you for what it's worth.

i have were given no longer were given an quite intense opinion of issues that declare to kill weeds at the same time as fertilizing the outdoor. i imagine of they seem a waste of money. Weed killer is a herbicide. that is going to kill optimal flora that it might want to. in simple terms about all, like Roundup, include 2,4D it quite is a threat-free component in shopper type weed killers. There on the on the spot aren't any further any well-known disadvantages in accordance to the articles that I truly have study. once you've a small outdoor, you would possibly want to spot spray with a small hand sprayer with Roundup immediately on the weed. in case you get the spray on grass on the point of it that may be killed also. do no longer purchase the pre-blend in Walmart or shrink value shops. purchase the major concentration and combine it extra perfect than the regulations state. even as spraying tall weeds, you would possibly want to favor to get the spray on outstanding to fullyyt kill it. good fulfillment.

A lot of communities do not allow these products to be used anymore because of the harm they do to the environment. Sorry cannot recommend a good product but be careful when using these products also as they can hurt pets and children also, to much exposure to them.

it depends on which type of plant you are calling a "weed", most weed killers have a list on the bag of what type plant they kill

BUY A "SELECTIVE" HERBICIDE" THAT WON,T KILL THE TYPE OF GRASS YOU HAVE. MOST NEED VERY WARM WEATHER TO WORK WELL. SPRAY ALL THE GRASS, JUST THE WEEDS DIE, THUS "SELECTIVE"!
