Caring for your plant

Good luck plants are hardy; they don't need a daily dose of sunlight.
All they need to grow is plain water (no soil) and shade.
The water should be changed every 3-4 days.
No need to add fertilizers.
Once a fortnight remove the plant from its vase, wash the vase as well as the pebbles and remove the dust from the leaves before replacing the plant in fresh water.

Just put it in a well lit area but not in the direct sunlight. The temp should stay 70 or above for best growth and out of drafts. Once it gets a good root system it should start growing faster for you. Don't fert until you see the growth pick up, then you can use a liquid fert like Miraclegrow or Shultz (balanced analysis like 20-20-20, as an example)

The stem parts where is was originally will not grow. It will put out new leaves and stems. Mine is growing very well, I water it once a week, and it only has florescent light.

It is a grass. Pretty much the only thing that kills it is lack of water
