Former tenants may have used bleach in the washer; is it possible it is still in the machine? It is only little bits on random pieces of clothing.

I was just curious why the fruit was dried out like this? It was so dry it was hard on the outside, hollow inside and full of seeds. At first I thought it was fake fruit until I opened it up to the seeds. We just moved in , it was an odd find. I don't know much about gardening but thought this might be some strange way to harvest seeds? There was a pear and what looked like a persimmon (spell check on that one..lol). Any help would be appreciated, if it was for seeds I think I might plant them.

In a few weeks I'll be moving for a job that will keep me in the same city for about 1-2 years. Once I find an apartment I'll have to furnish it; since I'll be moving again within a few years would it make more sense to rent than to buy furnishings? Should I just browse through Craigslist for a few days to find cheaper furniture? I was wondering what other options are out there...what it comes down to is that I don't want to have a ton of furniture to move every time I start a new contract.

It's my first big move and I have no idea whether kits are a better option than buying individual boxes. I still don't know how many I will need and I would hate to buy more than I need -- prices are very high!!! Thanks in advance for any tips or ideas!

Lately, the amount of hot water for our morning shower has been lasting less and less time. It's gotten to the point where we get one good hot shower out of it. After that, it goes lukewarm for a little while, and then just cold. I'm pretty sure our water heater is going out. What should I do? Should I get it inspected by a local plumber? Does that cost anything? Is there something I can do myself to make sure it's bad before going out and completely replacing it?

In my bathroom there is a water shutoff valve located behind the toilet. The handle that you twist to turn off the water is dripping water. I think I possibly could fix it on my own, but I dont know how to do it. Does anyone have any advice?

Worst stains are from a woodpigeon he killed recently. Have tried washing up liquid - which has worked a bit in the past, but not on woodpigeon blood. Have also tried various propriatory sprays, with no luck. Are there any 'natural' solutions ?
