My mother used to burn candles claiming it 'ate the smoke', but I don't know if it really worked or not.
There's also a candle that's supposedly made just for the purpose of eating the smoke. Most of the Marts carried it.
Ask the smoker to turn on the exhaust fan in the bathroom while they smoke, it may help.
Febreeze works, and you may want to use the 'air freshener' version of it as well. Oust works to clean the air a little.
Only other thing to do is ask them to smoke outside.

as a smoker i can tell you that there is no way to keep the smell of smoke out of your house no matter what you do. Part of the problem is that their clothes smell like smoke because when they are not home they get it on them. I was so offended by my own smoke smell and the film/residue it leaves on everything that I started smoking outside. When my father quit we had his carpets and furniture cleaned, painted and washed all the linens and after 5 years you could still smell the stale smoke smell. Candles help a little but not even those expensive air machines can keep it out. Good luck to you

Get an air purifier for the bathroom, the smoke is coming through the air vent for the air conditioner, change your filter regularly. Keep a window up in the bathroom while smoking, or keep the window up all the time with the door shut.
I know ppl who do this and they smoke in the whole house and their house never smells of smoke.

Good Luck

air purifier...if they only smoke it the bathroom, then you could get a small one for in there....if it is a good one, the smell and smoke won't ever make it out of the bathroom. Other than that, I put my favorite potpouri in a cheesecloth and place it on top of my A/C or furnace filter. They make special things with different fragrances just for that purpose, but it is cheaper to just make your own. They also make "smokeless" ashtrays. You could try one of those...it might help...I have never used one so I don't know how well they work. They also have these bags of (I think) lava rocks in the pet section of Walmart to absorb pet odors. They work great for lots of things. I use one above my garbage can, cat litter box, clothes hamper...you could maybe hang a couple of those in or around the bathroom. Hope some of this helps. Good Luck!

If they must smoke in the bathroom have them turn on the shower or tub let the water run, and also have a old coffee can filled 1/4 full with water in which to put the cigarette out in, something about the water breaks up the smoke also if they blow the smoke into a wet towel. And always have the fan on or window open.

Let the person smoke only in their room with an open window,,open all windows frequently & air out the house,,smoke outside,,get a smokeless ashtray,,I am a smoker.I dont recommend air fresheners or the like because they are hazzard to pets even tho they show pets in their commercials.
