Sometimes my gas oven won't get up to temperature (it gets to around 100-150 F). This seems to be correlated with running the central a/c (which is electric). What could be causing this? All was fine for about 4 years. Could a faulty thermostat on the oven cause this? But why only when the a/c is on? Coincidence?

we put in a brick pathway on a slight slope, I'm beginning to think this was a mistake. We used those fiberglass edgers on the sides of the bricks, but they don't seem to be holding the shape of the path well. the bricks on the outside edge of the curve are starting to separate a little and now there is about a 1/2 inch gap between the bricks. I don't know if it's because it has been so dry, or if it was just a really bad idea to put a brick pathway on a slope - is there a fix for this? please help!!

I am about to move into an apartment building. It has about 25 floors. I was wondering, do plumbing problems become more of an issue the higher up you are in an apt? For example, does water pressure reduce, do toilets not work as well, etc. Thanks for your help!

I found this bug in my house and I am terrified. I have a huge phobia of cockroaches. Well everyone I ask just laughs at me and says every bug I see is a cockroach to me. Its true and I dont think this one is either because all the pics I see on the net dont even resemble it. It is about well 3/4 of an inch long, it is either a really really dark brown or black. It has wings all the way down its body, but what gets me is that it has a tiny head with a ohhh I dont know how to explain this, a tusk or straw like mouth thats about the length of its head. If anyone can help so that I can sleep at night it would be greatley appreciated. It also has skinny jointed legs.

I have checked online, but everywhere tells me something different. The plants I'm currently trying to root are members of the passion flower and honeysuckle families (vine plants with a nice climbing habit) from cuttings I've taken from their newer growth.

One popular method has told me to put the cuttings in vermiculite after dipping the end in rooting compound.

The second method I've found was to take the clippings and keep the bottom half submerged in water (in a glass or test tube) until roots begin to emerge.

(I've even considered merging the two and keeping a test tube filled with water and vermiculite after dipping the plant in rooting compound!!)

Of these two, are either better or worse for rooting these clippings, and if there are any methods that I have missed (I'm sure there are several) that would be a good choice for these plants then please let me know. Thanks for the help.

If a contractor is hired to do work on your house, and you ask him to see a detailed break-down of the costs, labor, supplies, etc. Is he required by law to do so? Aren't businesses required to provide you with a receipt of some type?

We had them in the car when we drove from CT to Brooklyn.
So the heat got to them......I got rid of all the wilted leaves, now the plants are just sparse.....and still looking a tad lifeless.
I put them in partial sunshine for a day since... they are also in doubled pots ot avoid excess water from leeking to the floor ..should I take them out to let the rooyts breathe? or it does not matter .......What it it that I am doing wrong/ What is it that I am no doing?

The home owners association where I live removed all the thick brush growing along the highway at the berm. Since that removal we have noticed more noise from passing motorists as well as seeing the vehicles pass by. We are wondering if we raise the berm and add more vegetation if that will help with the noise.

I am considering using this technique to cover up some old wallpaper and was wondering if there was a particular weight of tissue paper that should be used? Also, the color I am considering is a pale green and want to do a darker green glaze over it. I am not sure how to start this project.

My neighbor is an idiot. He lives right next door. If we pull out of our drive ways at the same time he acts like it's a Nascar race. He recently called our local dept of economic development on us because the backboard of our basketball goal was broken and lied to them saying that glass was everywhere. It's 1/8" plexiglass and none was on the ground. I removed the remaining backboard and replaced it with a sign that says "IDIOT" and pointed it at his house. Now, I want his fence off my property. Can I just destroy the section of his fence that is on my property? Can I paint it rainbow colors? Any advice would be useful. The same agency he reported me to refuses to do anything about it.
