Have a two-year old GE side-by-side refrigerator; the freezer side makes a VERY ghost-like moan/whine, usually in the evening-night hours. It sounds a bit whistle-y, like air passing through a tight space. Sound lasts about 10-15 seconds, ascending in tone and then descending, and repeats regularly. No temperature problems or frosting, though--otherwise is running fine. GE FAQ at http://www.geappliances.com/service_and_support/faqs/faq_refrigerators.htm indicates that most modern fridges "moan, groan or sizzle." Dug around the Web and only found one similar experience, someone who had a repairman come out. He installed a "noise pack" on the back of the appliance that didn't really help. Should I bother coughing up the dough for a service call?

The clog almost looks like reeeeeaaalllly thick soap scum, only it is black! I don't want to use Drano all the time, because that will eventually damage the pipes. They are plastic.

The leaves are at least 3 feet long, but I don't see anything even resembling a flower spike yet. Are these bulbs biennials? Could there be a problem with the soil, or amount of sun they get? The bulbs were planted in late spring, in rich soil, and get full sun. The leaves appear healthy.

I want to replace the corian back splash with tile. The splash board appears to be siliconed in place. Will it pop out if I apply force to separate it from the counter top itself?

This was an addition done 20-30 years ago. The concrete was never given a proper 'finish' and it's dusty, chipped and not level in areas. The "levelers" sold at Home Depot are not all the same. Some are only good to 1/8 inch which doesn't work for me. I've been told I can have more concrete poured on top but it has to be 6 inches thick. Having it 'leveled' by professionals would cost a couple thousand dollars that I don't have. Is this a DIY project or should I go shopping for carpet? If I do end up with carpet, what do I do about the dust from the concrete? I'm afraid it will just work its way up into the carpet.
