Every toilet my son uses gets clogged, and we don't know what to do. Plunging doesn't help much. Please Help!

When this problem happens here, I never use a plunger. Instead I use a pail of water.

Here's what to do so you don't have an overflowing toilet:

1. If the poop is big, do not put the toilet paper into the toilet when done using it -- discard into the trash. It will take a few times before you or your son remembers to do this, probably, as its just habit to drop the paper into the toilet bowl.
The reason to keep the paper out is so you can see what is happening in the following steps.

2. Turn OFF the incoming water to the toilet tank. You don't want any more water coming into the bowl than necessary. If you don't turn off the water and your timing in the following steps is wrong, you will have water overflow onto your floor -- YUK.

3. Fill a 2 gallon bucket/pail of water. 3/4 full should be enough.

4. Raise the toilet seat.

Now comes the important steps. Timing must be right when you pour in the water from the bucket, so it may take a few times before you get the procedure "perfect"

5. Flush the toilet and let go of the handle as normal.

6. The water in the bowl will increase and it will try to go down as it should. WAIT for the flush cycle to be almost done BUT NOT COMPLETELY DONE.

7. Before the downward suction of the water slows, QUICKLY AND FORCEFULLY POUR IN THE WATER FROM THE BUCKET. Aim for the bottom of the toilet bowl.

8. Hopefully, the force of the water from the bucket will drag the poop down the pipe with it and your problem will be solved.

9. Turn on the incoming water to the toilet tank. The toilet will reset itself as normal.

I have used this technique for several years with success nearly every time. Occasionally it will take 2 buckets of water if I wait too long to pour in the water. There is not even a toilet plunger in my home because this technique works so well for me. I have one low-flow toilet and one old-capacity toilet and it works equally well with either one.

The only other simpler solution I know is to NOT poop at home. Get your business done at work, at school, etc.

There are power-assisted toilets available. They use compressed air to add force to the water. The initial cost is higher than a standard home toilet, but they work well and are probably worth the added cost.

I am not a professional handy-man or plumber. In fact, I bet my technique might put some plumbers out of business if more people knew about it and how to do it. :)

get a bucket...turn on the hot water in the bath tub...let it run and get hot. fill the bucket and then pour the contents SLOWLY into the toilet bowl. you may have to do this a couple of times...sometimes it will just clear on its own or you may have to use the plunger. the hot water loosens the shite from the trapway of the bowl. i had this problem with an elderly person living in our home and the snake wouldn't clear it. the hot water worked perfect. your child needs more roughage in his diet...he will shite better and it won't clog the toilet.

Take an old wooden spoon and go down as far as possible to scoop the piece to the side and chop into small pieces. When flushing, hold back some pieces and let them go down a few at a time. Wash the spoon with a toilette brush and keep in a container for next time.

Try a toilet snake/auger. Don't use a sink auger, it will scratch the porcelin.
