we put in a brick pathway on a slight slope, I'm beginning to think this was a mistake. We used those fiberglass edgers on the sides of the bricks, but they don't seem to be holding the shape of the path well. the bricks on the outside edge of the curve are starting to separate a little and now there is about a 1/2 inch gap between the bricks. I don't know if it's because it has been so dry, or if it was just a really bad idea to put a brick pathway on a slope - is there a fix for this? please help!!

we put this pathway in in May of this year, it's only August and it's already starting to show gaps between the outer row of bricks and the rest of the pathway

yes, we used a paver base that Home Depot recommended, tamped it and added sand between the bricks after bricks were installed. We thought we did everything the way they showed us, but maybe the sloped pathway was a bad idea

If you can, get some rebar or something similar and drive stakes in to hold the outside bricks in place. Unless it is very soft ground and now tamped down as it should have been, this should work.

Think it was a bad idea. To put a pathway on a slope. The rain will wash the dirt out in time , unless you connect them together the stone. Like rocks use mora- cement and hook them together make it long enough that it won"t slide touching the bottom of the slope where started from. Don"t worry about looks always add little flowers along path. Good luck. Pen

Not sure if you properly installed it. Did you level the ground using sand and tamping? Did you go back and fill with sand after bricks were placed? All of this should have kept the pathway in place.

What was the ground like that you placed the brick on. You are proabibly getting settling which has nothing to do wit the slope.
