The hardwood is a honey color, and I like it. The roomies want a dark stain, but I was concerned about how the stain would take considering the floor is 30 years old, and now has tackstrip holes (know of any wood filler that will absorb the stain, also?) and a ton of old discolored dog pee stains and other imperfections. I don't want to bleach the rest of the floor, but I haven't sanded yet, either, so we'll see how well they come up. Also, the floor doesn't really "meet" the wall, and there is marble tile that surrounds the floor that is at least a half inch higher. I don't wanna remove the tile, so are there any good solutions to a way to make that look better?

I'm looking for someone over 60 who remembers how we had to struggle for nylon hosiery during the 40's. There was a way to put all your mismatched hose in a pan of something like vinegar or salt or something and I think you heated it and all the stockings came out the same color. Sound familiar to anyone? Maybe someone reading this could ask their mother or grandmother.

Yesterday I threw out the plants on either side and the bees just started swarming. My gardening gloves were vibrating when I looked down there were bees trying to get me. I have a dumpster for two more days and this is the only potted one left. It is very heavy you need two people to heave it into a wheel barrow. That means our faces will be pretty much stuck in the plant. Help me get rid of the bees so that I can get rid of the plant.

I see several farms offering both turf and sod. Is there really a difference?

At my local Wal-Mart, there are a bunch of cheap shirts in very nice colors. They are 60% cotton and 40% polyester. I've always worn 100% cotton, so I don't know if these shirts are...acceptable quality. Is 60% cotton good enough for a shirt? I heard that polyester is cheap and makes you sweat a lot because cotton allows better air-flow. Either way, I just want the shirts for the unusual colors that can't be found in 100% cotton.
