My current roof is about 28 years old. It's in pretty good shape. No missing shingles or curling etc. There's a little discoloration on one edge.

I had a stucco like substance on my bathroom ceiling that was peeling and falling off. I scraped it all off and found a layer of pink paint beneath the stucco that also was peeling in many spots. Underneat the paint is plaster that has some spots. I have an exhaust ceiling fan in the bathroom but don't think it works terribly well. I am considering scraping the remaining paint off then filling in uneven spots and corners with spackling compound then painting over the whole thing again but I am concerned that the spackle will not adhere well in the spotted areas. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I have a wooden deck on the back of my house about 20' x 30'. Years ago it was stained red but now the stain is wearing through and the gray wood is showing through. Do I just restain over the old stain, or do I have to remove the existing stain, or...?

What is an average cost to break up and remove uneven segments of concrete sidewalk in front of my house and then have a contractor pour new cement? I'd be looking for a "per segment/section" cost or per square foot, or however its usually billed.

Needing to replacing the fan motor for the home a/c condenser, and want to know if it's a simple DIY job. It's a GE 1/3 HP with 1075RPM. Please advise if there's any detailed info on the replacement online. What are some of the things I should watch out for? Any other associated parts with motor I should also replace?

Should I buy one? I'll have a big yard and a medium-sized house, but I hear they have SERIOUS health issues, and they bark, dig, and bite. Is that true (I really doubt it)? What are they like?

I'm installing a dryer into a house I just bought and I need to go through cement-asbestos siding for the vent. I understand that this type of siding is very brittle. Anyone have a suggestion on the best way to put a 4 inch hole through the siding without destroying the whole piece? And if I do end up breaking the piece I'm going through, are replacement pieces still able to be purchased?
