I ordered some ladybugs to help control the aphids in my yard. Any suggestions for helping for a successful release and keeping them around!

Release them in the evening, because that will make them less likely to fly away for cooler spots during daylight hours. I always shake my ladybugs out along the base of whatever plant(s) I want them to protect.

I have read that the young lady bugs have a build up of carbohydrate energy just waiting to be spent by flying away from your garden and into your neighbors... The advice to release in the evening and at the bottom of your plants seems about as much as you can do.

On a non windy day just take the bottle or package and set in the yard open and they will fly
or put them right in the middle of your garden too:):)

Put them on a leash. oh and dont forget to get each of them a name tag just incase one gets lost, the finder will be able to return him/her to you, its rightful owner.
