Easily done but must be over time. Put in a water softener and fill it with the salt pellets in the green bag after about a month or two all of the deposits will be dissolved and rinsed away. Best part is your water will remain potable throughout the process. Another way is to hire a plumber to do it if you don't want to wait. Youll not be able to use your water for a while but it'll be done faster.

I have had great results using a product called "CLR" diluted or straight out of the container. It is good enough to take rust stains off the patio, calcium and soap off the shower doors and even can clean the bottom of the tea kettle. Great stuff.

I was skeptical at first but decided to try it anyway. It really works.
I was convinced when i looked inside my electric water heater and the calcium sludge on the bottom was about half from what it was 6 months prior.
