Astigmatism. I don;t really havea problem seeing while driving.

2007-10-27 16:06:25 · 3 answers · asked by sliverofdignity 3

Okay Im 15 and just got my first pair of glasses, they are -1.25 in each eye with no astigmatism. I see a lot better with them but my parents say that I really don't need them since -1.25 doesn't seem that high.

Mind you neither of them wear glasses and my whole family has 20/20 vision... I sort of want to wear them but they say that it will make my vision worse and even showed me some websites that proves this:
http://www.geocities.com/soonsee2020/TheoryB.html

I still want to wear them though because I can see so much better! but in a way i understand what there saying cuz then ill be stuck with higher prescriptions for the rest of my lfie.... WHAT SHOULD I DO!

P.S this is my first time on Yahoo Answers so I hope im doing this right!

I have disposable monthly contacts but I tend to only wear them on weekends. Should I still change them every 30 days or is it 30 wears?

Hello, is it true that the limbus of the eye (see: http://www.lvpei.org/stemcell_dia.jpg or please see: http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/_/viewer.aspx?path=dorland&name=limbus_corneae.jpg as an example) is usually a lighter color than the iris's color? Could it be darker? Is it possible for the color to be blue (exceptions being a corneal arcus) for darker colored eyes? Example: a person who doesn't have high cholesterol deposits who has brown eyes to have a blue limbus? Is the limbus's color usually the eye's color? Finally, IF it is possible genetically for the limbus's color to be completely different from the iris (say blue), what would be the frequency of this (particularly in the US)? How unlikely is it for eyes to have a blue limbus and would age matter (of course older people might have a corneal arcus more)? What would be the frequency of this for a total average segmented population? Any facts or scientific data is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

I threw away the box for my contacts, and I'm on the last pair... I think the brand name was Acuvue, and they were 1month contacts. I'm going to go get an eye exam today, and I plan to buy contacts online... but all I'm finding for Acuvue are the ones that last 2-weeks! grr

I was just wondering if this happens to anyone. I wear glasses (very similar to my avatar picture) and whenever I wake up in the morning, my vision is near perfect. As the day goes on, I either need to put on my glasses, or I don't need them. This is starting to confuse me, any ideas?

A pupil which is not round, but looks as if it is leaking into the iris? Is this similar to a birthmark, or what?

Just a couple months, I noticed that sometimes i can see lil thing floating around in my vision. It's very tiny looks like lint but it's not. I'm on the computer a lot so I don't know if thats the reason why my eyes are getting messed up. Not too long ago i've seen an optometrist for my an eye exam but she didn't mentioned anything about my eyes. Only prescribed me glasses . So if I have eye cancer, the optometrist would be able to tell me right? I only see this lil thing in my vision when I'm looking at something bright such as computer screen on a white background or in the sunlight. Is this age-related? I am only 23 and am a female.

I know for a fact that if you share eye make up you would be in great risk of catching the pink eye wich is bacteria in your eye. But what I want to know is...Can sharing eye make up also be the cause of bad eye vision? Answer this question and I'll really appreciate it. Thank You.

hi i am 15 years old and when i was 1 1/2 years old i spilt some hot tea all over my face in my eyes and on the shoulders and chest. the hot tea left permanent burns on my chest and right shoulder and because of this incident i now have a lazy eye. i have had 2 surgeries done on my lazy eye (one when i was 9 and one when i was 11) and its still not straight. my eye doctor advised me to purchase some glasses which would make my lazy eye look straight and ive been wearing them and my lazy eye is still not straight. my right eye is perfectly fine when i close my right eye and see through my left i can hardly see anything but other wise i see everything perfectly fine. so i was wondering if theres anything else i could do it make my left eye (lazy eye) straight or if i could still get another surgery to straighten it.

The optician said my eyes were R: 025/025x170 and L: 075/025x172

What do these numbers mean, and do I need glasses, or was he just trying to get money out of me?

So I've worn glasses for quite some and I've had the same pair for about a year and I'm getting sick of the frame. I was at Borders the other day and I was waiting in line and looking at their reading glasses. I do not need glasses for reading, just for distance. I did, however, find a frame that I fell in love with!!! I couldn't resist, so I ended up buying them (I mean they were only $10!). Anyways, since I don't need glasses for reading and all I wanted was the frame, can I just have new lens put into the frame? I mean you can't beat $10 for frames!

Hey guys, I'm just wondering... I just got contacts today and it's really hard to put them on. I never wore contacts before, so maybe that's why -- but like when I actually GOT them on my eyes, it came off. Are there certain sizes to contacts? I got these contacts from this website:

http://www.vampfangs.com/Green-FX-Lenses-p/greenmax.htm

So yeah, please answer if you can. =/
I'm not 18 and my dad bought those...
So I'm breaking the rules, yeah.
Is it because I'm not 18?
