She has no problems seeing she says. She explained the part of the test she failed, she said there were two boxes together with an A & B in the boxes and she had to tell her where the dot was inside the box...My daugther said it was on the outside of the box when it was suppose to be on the inside of the box...if that tells you anything...

There can be problems with the alignment of the eyes caused by weak or shortened eye muscles and those should be checked out because the misalignment can lead to lazy eye and blindness in one eye if untreated. However, since your daughter didn't have a problem with this before, I doubt she has one now. Still, she should see an eye care professional. She might be developing another problem that could require glasses. She's now at an age where these problems typically start to show up.

the school nurse usually doesnt know jack about eyes or vision. there are obviously exceptions to this, but the vast majority of school nurses and pediatricians diagnoses of any eye or vision condition should definitely be taken with a grain of salt.

go to an optometrist. this definitely does not need a "pediatric ophthalmologist" IMO. if she failed the school "eye test", that doesnt mean anything except that she needs a real eye exam by a real eye doctor (optometrist)

Muscle problem, nonsense. If your daughter had a "tropia" which means that one of the ocular muscles is not functioning correctly it would be obvious to you and her. It is more likely to be a "phoria". A bit difficult to explain but can be easily corrected using specs with prisms. Don't panic the description you were given by the school is rubbish.

What they could have meant was a problem with her accomodation (clilary muscle inside her eye)
Some young people need exercises in accomodating (focussing on near objects).

One crucial question, does she have trouble seeing close objects or far away objects, or neither??
