I have disposable monthly contacts but I tend to only wear them on weekends. Should I still change them every 30 days or is it 30 wears?

It is 30 or so wears, not days, but you should change the solution and rinse them every few days to keep them good. Some people get by just fine with more than thrity wears, it depends on your eyes. If they really bother you two times in a row, then it's time for them to go! I have contacts myself, so I can say from personal experience that I have been able to use one pair of contacts for a month and a half at the most, and that is wearing them every day.

You can keep throw them away after 30 wears, but make sure you change the solution they have been sitting in every 3 days or so. You don't want bacteria to start growing in there with the lenses in the case.

It's 30 wears, definitely. However, if they are sitting for 5 days in the same solution, I would strong suggest that you re-cleanse them over night before the day you are going to wear them. Just dump out the old solution, pop the contact back in the case and re-disinfect. That way, you run little to no risk of having any bacterial build up on your lenses.

Toss them after 30 wears. The material in the lenses breaks down only when you wear them.

My optometrist said 30 wears, not 30 days. It only counts when you actually wear them.

If you don't really want to take a chance with your being able to see, I would ask an eye doctor, not people on here. I come from a family history of eye doctors, though not one myself, and I suppose from my being around it so much, that I suggest this. Eyesight is way to important to be risking it by finding answers here.

A call to an eye doctor to ask this question isn't going to cost you a dime either.
