There is now real proof that somebody can literally be tickled to death however tickling can be a contributing factor if you tickle somebody with asthma, a weak heart, or some other medical conditions.
If you are tickling a healthy person, they most likely would pass out from lack of oxygen if they were unable to stop laughing.
That said, tickling should always be respectful and consensual and never for the benefit of the tickler only.

According to the article in the American Journal of Medicine, published in 2002, death from tickling has been linked to many real cases. Case in point, a man in California was charged with involuntary manslaughter after it was found that his grandmother died from asphyxiation after being mercilessly tickled to death. However in this particular case, the defendant pleaded not guilty and cited his grandmother as a sadist as she frequently requested being tickled. The jury found him not guilty and, given the grandma's state of mind, ultimately ruled it a suicide.

hmm.. i guess it depends on how you react on it.. if i am tickled so much -- because of my brain focusing on that sensation while over laughing i might forget to breath and that would cause death..

i wouldn't have thought so. you would get a very sore stomach from laughing tho.

IT'S TRUE!! One time my friend was having a serious laugh attack and she just exploded! NEVER LAUGH OVER 20 MINUETS!
