I've worn glasses for about 20 years (I'm in my 30's). Suddenly, I don't need my glasses! I had an astigmatism, prism, and I was nearsighted. It started as very blurry vision closeup that was perfect without my glasses. Now I can see nearly perfectly far away too. No need for the prism either! Don't get me wrong, it's nice, but I'm quite curious about it. I went to the doctor and he said he's seen it a few times in his 35 years as an eye doc. What causes this? Goodness this is weird!

I have severe dry eyes. My doctor put temporary tubes in my eyes, and as long as I put teardrops in all day they are a bit better. Should I let him put permanent ones in? Does it hurt? Does it work? What about doing this while on chemo? Is it a big deal? Is it surgery?

like is the fluid harmful after you use it on your bare eyes without your contacts in? my eyes were kind of burning a little, and i hope that it wasn't harmful. i used it because after i took my contacts out my eyes felt really dry and i needed something to liquidate them a little bit

I am nearsighted (20/700 or so). My parents both have poor eyesight, but I managed to surpass them a few years ago. Most of my short, two decade life has been spent around books or computers.

1- Would a lifestyle change be able to improve my vision? For example, if I decrease my close work? Is the damage done?

2- I've noticed an increase in 'floaters'. Usually, I can ignore them but the amount in my eyes right now is... irritating. Is there any way to reduce these? I've been in a chronically stressful situation for the last six weeks, so I wonder if its correlated.

3- Recently, my eyes have began to twitch. I had a bout of these spasms a few years ago, centered on the upper part of my left eye. Now, they occur in the lower parts of both eyes. What are they and how can I make them go away?

4- "They" say that severe nearsightedness increases your chance of retinal detachments. How severe do they mean?

Thanks

I'd like to know if anyone actually tried the deal @ www.twopairs.com. Why is that the ad says you can get two pairs for AS LOW AS $69.95? Is there any sales catch? Did anyone like the deal?

How often should your eye's be dilated and checked by the eye doctor? Once a year? Or is it less?

Also, how long do pupils stay dilated for? I will as my doctor, but since I work on the computer, I'm wondering how long it will be before I can safely look at the screen?

Thanks!

This might be weird, but sometimes i can see the fluid infront of my eye, it appears as little circles and lines. I'm positive its the fluid because when i turn my eyes in a certain direction they move as well, and when i stop moving them, the shapes continue to move under momentum for a bit. I've checked my eyes in the mirror and theres nothing "visably" there, and im pretty positive its not from sun exposure or bright lights. Does any1 else get this, or is it just me?

I was *lucky* enough to get glasses at age 44. I was given bifocals but at times I see better up close w/o them. I guess I'm nearsighted as I can't see crap (details) from far away. Does anyone have a hint as to how to get used to them? I am due for an exam and a new pair (i get nearly free ones once/year as i'm on assistance) of glasses next month....the doc said a year ago that I need them for long distances and what a difference THAT made. He said I didn't really need the focals and that I could switch back and forth with these focals and reading glasses. What would YOU do????

When does myopia become just embarrassingly bad? I have -4.00 in one eye and -4.25 in the other, and I can not visit my ophthalmologist just yet, so I do not want that answer please.

Today I was talking to my son and I noticed that his pupils were reddish black...like a reflection of red. I'm not sure exactly how to explain it. I'm just curious if this is normal or if I need to talk to the doctor.

I may be over reacting, I've just never noticed it on anyone else, but it may have just been the way the light was reflecting...
Thanks

I am 16 with myopia like a -4.00, and both my parents have way worse vision I think, does your exact diopters relate to genes, or just nearsightedness, like one person can be -0.5 and the other -6.00 etc.

If you don't do anything to make the scratches bigger, like dropping them, I mean. Think of a crack on glass: the natural tendency is that even a small crack can quickly grow large with even a very light tap. Do scratches on lenses behave the same way? (I believe I have high resin lenses)

Do you get it in one or both eyes, do you get any physical symptoms?
What age do you expect to get it?
I have heard you must test your eyes if it runs in the family, but when do you need to test?
My left eye aches sometimes, I do have glasses for certain things, not all the time.
thanks.

The itching is now less but the redness is still the same. It sometimes feels as though there is something in my eye and sometimes my vision is slightly hazy. Almost like there is excess moisture in my eye. If I blink a couple of times it goes away. I went to the pharmacy today and they reccomended I see someone about it. Anyone know what it could be?
