Ive been hearing from people that Contacts lenses can be a pain in the %@%@ but a few people tell me that there the best thing ever and since i play sports and have ran over my glasses about 2 times I think its time to try contacts but im a little unsure if there a pain or there really easy. Also ive heard that after 4-6hrs your eyes start to become red or start to feel "Grainy"

I'm a guy with long hair. My bangs come a bit down in front of my eyes, which doesn't bother me considering I just brush them out of the way and it's fine. However, my grandmother insists that this will damage my eyesight, which sounds completely ridiculous to me, but I unfortunately have no real proof that it does not.

So:
Could having long hair that hangs in your eyes possibly damage your eyesight?

I got bifocal contacts and have been wearing them for about 10 days now. After I have them in for a while, my right eye keeps getting a "film" over it and I have to keep blinking to make it go away so I can focus. My left eye does it here and there also, but nearly as much as my right eye. I know there is an "adjustment period" for new contact wearers, so I was just wondering if this was part of the breaking in, or if it doesn't sound right. Thanks in advance for your help/opinions!

Last year, I developed strabismus out of nowhere. I am 24 ( i was 23 when this happened) After so many tests done, it was concluded that my eyes might've been messed up by a bleeding of a bening cyst beneath the hypothalamus or an angioma right below the cyst. Some doctors said that it might had damaged the 6th par on my left side (??) and that's was caused the strabismus.

Now, my left eye is the only one that will move by itself but only when i try to look to my right or straight ahead of me.

Wearing prisms has helped but Im starting to feel like Im having issues with my vision again (btw, im nearsighted badly!!!! R-4.25 L-4.75)

So what choices do I have regarding recuperation? Is surgery ever possible on me? And what kind?

I'm not even sure it's an eye infection now. My eyes are red and a little yellow, and get worse if I wear my contacts. They don't hurt, but my head usually does. Red eye remover relieves it temporarily, as does moisture drops, but it always comes back. I've used medicine for pink eye two times within the past few months. Either I'm getting one infection right after the other, or it's never completely going away.

My eyes are goopy in the morning, and if I wear mascarra then it ALWAYS flakes into my eyes and collects. It's disgusting. I've tried hypoallergenic mascarra that isn't supposed to flake, but it STILL gets in my eyes, and I'm wondering if that's the problem. What I'm also worried about is WHY it stays in my eye...My eyes don't seem to be cleaning themselves. I've NEVER had this problem until these past few months. Even after using an eyewash the bits of mascarra are still in there.

Could my tear ducts be blocked? I can still cry...

1. What are the advanages and disadvantages of wearing colored contacts?

2. Is it normal for colored contacts on your second day with them to cause redness, itching, watery eyes, stinging, a little bit of double vision, and blurry vision?

3. How can I keep my contacts clean while inside my eyes? They like t get a little bit dirty and cloudy.

4. How many times a day should I use Visine for contacts?

5. If the eye doctor said my vision hasn't changed enough to inherit new glasses what is my vision? It was 20/60 the first time I was there. This was the second time. What am I now 20/?

I just got an eye exam and the doctor said I have 30/20 vision and a little bit of astigmatism in my left eye, what does this mean because the doctor really didn't explain it.

Only one of my eyes is "bad" enough for a corrective lense and wearing only one contact is an option. Does anyone know how difficult this will be getting use to?

1. How many times a day should I put Visine for Contacts in my eyes?

2. Today, will be my second day with contacts, they are colored, is it normal for my eyes to be itchy and red?

3. How can I keep my contact from rolling around in my eye and from folding over? They're so soft and delicate!

4. What does it mean if your head feels light-headed and al of a sudden you see little colored specks that very fast, take over your eyes and you can't see and then it fades away?

All my life I had good vision until I turned 19-20 yrs. of age. I began reading a lot of novels. I read for 5-6 hours straight on a daily basis during that one year. During that time I noticed that when I stopped reading my vision would be blurred and it will take a few minutes to get back in focus. But as time went on and I read more books it was harder for me to get my eyes to focus on distant objects.
Some people say that myopia is because of the shape of the eye or that it’s genetic. But that can’t be in my case. I used to have good vision and members of my family do not suffer from myopia.

I’m 25 now and my myopia did not progress… I also do not read as much as I used to.

I have heard of the Bates method. I was wondering if it will work in my case?

I am nearsighted, have astigmatism & just last year started wearing bi-focals. Should I consider Lasik? I was told Lasik can only fix for far away or close. Haven't worn contacts in years! Suggestions?

Hi guys. I am really pissed cause my eye doctor is trying to pull a trick on me. I got my eye exam like 13 months ago for contacts, but he did not give me any prescription, even though he is required by law!!! Now I want to get some more on-line, so I called him for the prescription. He told me that I have to get examined again because it has been more than a year, and he wont give me the old ones cause it's expired. Can he do that? What can I do about this? My old lens prescription works fine. All I need is few more boxes!!!

I had to see a neurologist a few weeks ago because of problems I was having in my arms, legs, feet, hands and left eye. He did a thorough neurological exam and said, "You don't have m.s., but I did notice some swelling around the optic disk- I think you have papilledema." So, he wants me to see an opthamologist, but I have astigmatism and I may need new contacts, so I think that might be my actual problem with my vision. Anyway, I need to know if when I look at objects and I blink or quickly look at the wall, the outline of the object seems to "jump" on to the wall. Is that from papilledema, or from astigmatism?

How important is "base curve" in a contact lense. I am trying to buy some contact lenses on online and it is only offering a base curve of 8.3.
When I usually order contact lenses, I buy it with a base curve of 8.7.
If I decide to buy the lenses with the base curve of 8.3-does it make much of a difference?

Thanks...
